The influx of C.S,I Churches from  Kerala to this hospitable island, Bahrain, led to the establishment of a Church under one roof to be in fellowship with our Lord.

Women, both as a wife and a mother are the bonding units within her family. Both play a pivotal role in moulding their family to be the salt of the world as Christ wants all of us to be. “Our duty is to plant the seeds, God gives the harvest”. On 2nd March 1995, under the leadership and inspiration of Rev. Raju Mathew, the Women’s Fellowship resumed.

The W F is involved in the spiritual growth of the members and in various humanitarian activities with fortnightly meetings. The members of W F gather on the first and third Saturdays of every month at 5.30 PM at the Church Hall. Meetings are also held at members residence as per request. The meeting is led by the Vicar. Songs, Bible reading, Bible study, intercessory prayers are some of the activities during the meeting. Apart from the regular meetings, we do visit parish members who are sick, contribute to charitable organization and respond to request for financial help.

A unique feature is the money collected from the “Vanchika”. It started in 1998 during the tenure of Rev. Chandy Thomas. We utilize the amount collected to help in the marriage of girls from Bethel Ashram, Asha Bhavan building fund, people who need houses, the sick who are financially weak and to distribute Christmas Presents to Sthree Jana Sakhyam volunteers, who work for the C.S.I Central Diocese. At present, we are sponsoring the education of two children of Bethel Ashram, Parakkal and a theology student under the diocese. The two highest contributors of Vanchika are given appreciation awards.

As a part of charitable contribution, the WF started Friday sales from 2013.This includes sale of homemade food items on any one Friday of the month after the regular service. The money collected was sent to the Bicentinary project marriage fund.

Medical camps have been conducted by the WF members since 2012 to provide free consultation, check- up and medication for underpaid labourers of various companies.

Food stalls are set up during Harvest Festival Day. The money collected from the sale of delicious food items prepared by the women folk of our Parish go to the Harvest Festival Fund to be used for charity. The WF conducts monthly Bible Quiz (Sthreejanavedi) and memory verse competition under the guidance of the Vicar and the winners are awarded with prizes.

The WF members play a major role with dedication during the special Women’s Day Service held every February. A Women’s Retreat was organized in February 2015 which included talks on health related topics by specialized doctors, and counseling classes.

The WF members participate in the World Women’s Day of Prayer, held in the first week of March. We also participate in the church annual get-together by presenting a skit or a group song. We are proud to distribute the cakes after the Christmas Day Church Service.

We take this opportunity to praise and thank God Almighty, for all the blessings showered on us for the past twenty glorious years to work along with the church, to uplift the church, both spiritually and financially. We also express our gratitude to Rev. Raju Mathew, Rev. Chandy Thomas and all the past and present Church Vicars and committee members who have supported us and rendered help to be a part and parcel of our Church. The Women’s Fellowship is indebted to our present Vicar Rev. James Jospeh and Mrs. Anu Mary Mathew for all the advice and encouragement to carry out our duty diligently.
